Manfred Von Steiner ~ World renowned Artist Manfred Von Steiner was born in Austria in 1951. Manfred expressed interest and artistic talent from an early age. Soon after he enrolled in the highly acclaimed “Glass Fach School”, in Tirol, Austria and at the age of 16 won a nation wide competition to design the stained glass window in the magnificent “St Stefan’s Dome Cathedral” in Vienna. At age 17 Manfred enrolled at the prestigious “University of Vienna” where he was mentored and taught by Austria’s most celebrated artist, Professor Ernst Fuchs. During this five year period Manfred had numerous exhibits throughout Austria including: Franz Wagner Gallery, Vienna Bundes Gallery, Salzburg Bundes Gallery, Linz. In 1973 Manfred graduated with Masters Degrees in both “Fine Art” and “Art History”. That same year Manfred was commissioned by “Austrian Education Television” to do an eight part television series entitled “The Art of Stained Glass”. Manfred also traveled the world for the “Tyrolean Stained Glass Company”, creating both original and reproduction works. Whilst employed here he was commissioned for original masterpieces and restoration work by many countries throughout Europe including the “Vatican City” in Rome, where he lived for three months restoring pieces by the old masters. Some of Manfred Von Steiner’s work can be seen though out Europe including: Austria: “St Erhard Monestary”, Melk “750th Year of Jubilee” “St Joseph Monastery”, Judenburg “1000th Year of Jubilee” “Burg Theatre”, Vienna “State Emblem” “Austrian Parliament”, Vienna “State Emblem” “St Steffan’s Dome Cathedral”, Vienna Germany “Koin Cathedral”, Cologne “John the Baptist” “Church of Mary Magdalene”, Munich “Mary Magdalene” “St Joseph Cathedral”, Strasburg “Madonna” Holland: “St Joseph Church”, Amsterdam “The Twelve Disciples” Switzerland: “Jugham Church”, Geneva “St Mathew” South America: Republic of Costa Rica “Parliamentary State Emblem” Republic of Costa Rica “History and Revolution”. In 1987 Manfred, Lee Ann, their son Christian and daughter Britt then moved to Perth, Western Australia where Manfred was exposed to the magnificent wild flowers and landscapes of the region and was inspired to paint these in numerous styles. His work was so popular he had numerous sellout exhibitions. In 1992 Manfred moved his family to the Gold Coast where he continued to create and exhibit a vast and versatile range of paintings from landscapes to to eventually developing his now mind bending signature abstract style that is unique to only a Manfred Von Steiner Masterpiece! Manfred plans to open a Fine art gallery, where he could exhibit only the most unique and exclusive pieces from his private collection.
